I have the best job ever! I get to coordinate all orientation activities for incoming students, including First STEP (Southeast Testing Enrollment Program) for new students and Transfer Orientation for students joining Southeast from other colleges and universities. I have also been involved with CampRedhawk (a summer transitional camp for incoming freshman that introduces them to leadership opportunities and campus spirit) since the idea was hatched and coordinate our communication with SEMO parents and families.

I also get to plan Opening Week- the happiest week on campus!- which includes New Student Convocation, SE 101, and the activities included in the annual Engage in 8! publication, for all events taking place during the first half of the fall semester. In addition, I present financial aid sessions to students and their families in southeast, east central, and St. Louis, Missouri high schools, at Show Me Day, Showcase, and other recruitment events on campus.

I am the chair of the Opening Week and Orientation Coordination committees, and a member of the Business Process Improvement Team, Enrollment Management and Student Success Council, the Substance Awareness Prevention and Education Group, the UI 100 Committee, Academic Advising Council, Professional Staff Council, Admissions and Marketing Group, Own Our Town and Own Our Campus Committees, International Student Liaisons Group, Athletic Compliance Committee, the Starfish Retention Workgroup, and the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce.

In May 2010, I received a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations, and minors in Marketing Management and Sports Management from Southeast. As a undergraduate, I was a Senior Student Ambassador and Show Me Day Coordinator in the Office of Admissions. In December 2016, I completed my Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration.

Originally from DeSoto, Missouri, I now reside in Cape Girardeau with my dogs Bruce and Winston and husband Matt. In my spare time, I love to try new food and attend as many SEMO athletic events (S-E!) as I can.

I joined the Admissions team in August 2012 as Assistant Director of Admissions for New Student Programs and was named Director of New Student Programs in November 2018. Prior to my work in Admissions, I worked as a Financial Counselor in Student Financial Services. I am a former Southeast Shout-out recipient and a past Employee of the Year. I am also a three-time past chairperson for Professional Staff Council. Serving my campus colleagues has been a highlight of my time on campus.

I look forward to meeting new and prospective students and helping them transition to life at Southeast, where I am certain that you will love your experience on campus as much as I did. "Nothing will ever love you like Southeast loves you!"
