Explain your Career Path

After graduating from SEMO, I went to SIU Carbondale to get my Master's in mathematics. I then took a job on the West Coast working for Renaissance, writing math items for high-stakes, standardized tests. I moved back to the Midwest and have worked at two STL area high schools. For both, I wrote the mathematics curriculum that each still follows, among other things.

What was your Major at Southeast and how would you characterize the quality of that program to prospective students?

I majored in Math Education and Applied Mathematics. Both adequately prepared me for my career and for the high octane grad school program that I went to.

Why did you choose to attend Southeast?

I chose Southeast because it was affordable, far enough from home, and secretly had a solid math program.

Who influenced you most during your time at Southeast?

I would say Dr. Chan, for his ability to reach all of his students, Dr. Tikoo for his dedication to his craft as well as his patience, and finally Dr. Daly for inspiring me to do more.
