Southeast Missouri State University’s (SEMO) Early College Programs has earned reaccreditation from the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP).
NACEP is the accrediting body for concurrent enrollment programs, allowing high school students to earn early college credit. As part of SEMO’s commitment to NACEP, each dual credit high school instructor is paired with a faculty liaison who supports the curriculum and delivery of courses, along with the training and development of instructors in the dual credit setting.
“For students, these programs provide an early glimpse into college academics, helping build confidence and momentum while reducing the time and cost of earning a degree,” said Dr. Doug Koch, interim provost. “Early college programs help schools and communities by encouraging students to aim higher in their studies while encouraging educators to work together across different schools, sharing ideas and promoting collaboration. I’m immensely grateful to the SEMO and high school faculty and staff for their dedication to supporting this program and our students.”
SEMO faculty and staff travel to schools for site visits, ensure appropriate student and faculty qualifications to study and teach dual credit content, and log professional development and training hours. This effort shows the commitment to excellence in dual credit programming.
“Being recognized by NACEP for reaccreditation is a testament to SEMO’s commitment to carry out these efforts successfully,” said Koch.
NACEP reaccreditation ensures that SEMO provides high school students enrolled in college-level courses with a strong, college-ready foundation and a competitive edge in higher education.
