Kris Baranovic has been selected to serve as director of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), effective April 1, 2025. Kris brings a wealth of experience in instructional design, faculty development and higher education leadership, making him well-suited to lead the CTL in its mission to support innovative and effective teaching practices.
With more a decade of experience in instructional design and faculty support, Kris has served in key roles at Southeast Missouri State University and the University of Missouri System. His expertise spans instructional technology, online learning strategies, and faculty training, all of which will be instrumental in advancing the Center’s efforts to enhance teaching and learning across the University. His background in instructional design, curriculum development and the integration of technology in education aligns with the evolving needs of faculty and students alike.
Reporting to the vice provost and dean of Graduate Studies, Kris will oversee strategic planning for the CTL, deliver and manage faculty development programs and collaborate with academic departments to implement best practices in teaching and learning. He will also work closely with SEMO Online and the Office of Information Technology to support innovative instructional strategies and the effective use of learning management systems.
