The Center for Scholarship in Teaching and Learning will be hosting an Inclusive Teaching Academy the week of June 13-17.
This five-day Academy uses best practices to facilitate effective teaching and learning for new and seasoned faculty members. Participants will be able to reflect on the content and apply the strategies to their courses.
There is a different topic each day. Participants will work on a specific aspect of their courses, share and workshop it with others to provide the best opportunity for student success. Each session will be from 9-11 a.m., meeting in Kent Library rooms 215 or 318. The topics are:
- Monday / Preparing an Effective Student-Centered Syllabus
- Tuesday / Developing Transparent Grading Practices
- Wednesday / Establishing a Productive learning Environment
- Thursday / Creating Active Learning and Engagement
- Friday / Promote Deep Learning and Persistence.
