Kathy Mangels, vice president for finance and administration, delivered a report on contracts and Facilities Management projects to the Board of Regents Sept. 20. She said the University has entered into a contract with Hollis and Miller, which has begun drafting conceptual designs for improvements at Houck Field designed to boost the fan experience. These designs will serve as a basis for cost estimates and fund-raising efforts as the project progresses.
Mangels also discussed the completion of renovations to Crisp Hall, which the Board also toured today. The Universitys office of Counseling and Disability Services has joined the Campus Health Clinic in this newly reconfigured facility, which also houses the Southeast Department of Nursing in expanded instructional and administrative space.
In addition, an indoor batting facility at Capaha Field has been completed, and Facilities Management has begun work on design development and construction documents for a new Experiential Lab on the first floor of Dempster Hall. Completion is set for January 2020. Renovation of the Magill Hall Biology Greenhouses and renovation and an addition to the track building also have been completed, she said.
