Southeast's Student Research Conference 

The Annual Southeast Missouri State University Student Research Conference encourages research by undergraduate and graduate students in all disciplines and provides a setting for students to present their work in a professional manner. Sponsored by: The Department of Psychology and Counseling, Psi Chi (Honor Society for Psychology), and the Psychology Club. 

Regional Conferences 

Midwestern Psychological Association 

The purpose of the MPA annual meeting is to share research across all areas of psychology. The annual meeting features invited addresses and talks from leading psychologists across the United States, papers and posters addressing a wide range of topics in current psychological science, workshops addressing the teaching of psychology, research methods, and statistics, and discussion groups, roundtables, and social events where members can share ideas and interests. Three affiliate groups also present as part of MPA. Those include Psi Chi, The Society for Teaching Psychology, and The Society for Community Research and Action. 

Southwestern Psychological Association 

SWPA works to promote and strengthen psychology’s scientific, professional, and educational facets. At its annual meeting, SWPA offers paper, poster, continuing education sessions, workshops, symposia, and invited talks. SWPA prides itself on serving the psychological community by providing access to scientific advances and professional development within a collegial atmosphere. Students are welcomed and treated as active and valued participants in the discipline.

Missouri School Counselor Association 

The Missouri School Counselor Association is a dynamic professional organization that has officially served school counselors of Missouri since 1948. MSCA was founded to help persons interested in school counseling make the most effective use of their skills and talents in services to students, parents, school personnel, and community members. 

Southeast Missouri School Counselor Association 

The Southeast Missouri School Counselor Association is one of twelve regions within the Missouri School Counselor Association (MSCA). Our region serves school counselors in the following counties: Butler, Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Carter, Dunklin, Iron (except Iron Co. C-4), Madison, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Perry, Reynolds, Ripley, St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve, Scott, Stoddard, Washington, and Wayne.

Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology 

SIOP is the premier membership organization for those practicing and teaching I-O psychology. While an independent organization with its own governance, SIOP also represents Division 14 of the American Psychological Association and is an organizational affiliate of the Association for Psychological Science. I-O psychology is a dynamic and growing field that encompasses workplace issues at the individual and organizational level. I-O psychologists apply research that improves the well-being and performance of people and the organizations that employ them. This involves everything from workforce planning, employee selection, and leader development to studying job attitudes and job motivation, implementing work teams, and facilitating organizational change.

American School Counselor Association

Association for Play Therapy International Conference 

The Annual APT International Conference and Exposition is committed to providing graduate level training and education, fostering the exchange of ideas, and providing networking opportunities to professionals across disciplines. Counselors, psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, graduate students, and other mental health professionals can select from over 55 educational workshops over a 6-day event offered every October. Nearly 1000 attendees earn 35-40 hours of continuing education approved for state licensure and play therapy credentialing. 

Association of Professional Behavior Analysts 

The annual Association of Professional Behavior Analysts convention is the premier conference on the science-based practice of applied behavior analysis (ABA). As in previous years, the program for the 2018 convention comprises presentations by carefully selected invited speakers combined with peer-reviewed research symposia, panel discussions, panel presentations, posters, and student papers. The convention will also provide multiple opportunities for social and professional networking in one convenient, congenial setting. 

Association for Behavior Analysis International 

Since 1974, the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) has been the primary membership organization for those interested in the philosophy, science, application, and teaching of behavior analysis. ABAI provides many services to its members and the field.
