Don Clayton
President and Chief Executive Officer at Milestone Equipment Holdings, LLC
Don has served as chief executive officer and board member of Milestone since 2017, previously serving as the company’s chief financial officer since 2016. In his current role, Don has led the company’s growth into a national leader in the transportation equipment leasing industry and built an ownership group that includes two leading private equity firms.
Prior to joining Milestone, Don served in senior leadership roles at HD Supply Waterworks (now Core & Main; NYSE: CNM) for 11 years, including 8 years as chief financial officer. In that role, Don played a key role in two initial public offerings, numerous strategic acquisitions, and a variety of other changes that helped strengthen the company’s industry leadership position.
Previously, Don served in the audit practice of PwC for over seven years, most recently as senior manager. In that role, Don served on a variety of auditing and consulting projects for large financial institutions and led numerous projects related to capital market transactions.
Don earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Southeast Missouri State University and passed the CPA exam in 1997. During the fall 2015 and spring 2016 semesters, Don served the university as Executive in Residence and adjunct professor. He has also served as an active member of the Southeast Missouri University Foundation Board (Finance and Audit Committee), the Harrison College of Business Corporate Advisory Board and the Partners in Progress Professional Advisory Group.
Don lives in Weldon Spring, Missouri with his wife Adrienne and their youngest son, while their two adult children live and work in the St. Louis area.
