The NFC introduces new faculty to the mission, vision, and values of the university. The conference also offers a variety of activities to explore and enhance teaching practice, and to help faculty learn about the support and resources available to help them (and their students) succeed. The NFC is an incredible networking opportunity!
August 2019 through May 2020
All new faculty will receive a New Faculty Mentor during their first year at Southeast. New faculty meet their mentor on August 1 during orientation, then again during the final day of the NFC. Other meetings will occur as mentors and mentees decide. New Faculty Mentors help new faculty acclimate to life at Southeast and help them navigate the systems and processes of the university.

Faculty Development Days are open to all faculty, but new faculty are particularly encouraged to attend. Faculty Development Days are designed to explore important themes for teaching and learning, and generally include a guest speaker, break-out activities, and a networking lunch.
New faculty and their mentors are highly encouraged to join these sessions which will center around a timely theme to help new faculty navigate and celebrate their first year. These sessions are wonderful opportunities to engage with our university leadership and to network with others.
* Required for all new faculty
