The Master of Science in healthcare management offers students four options to focus their curriculum: administration, communication, informatics, or quality and patient safety. This program is recognized by the Network of International Business Schools (NIBS).

  • Undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale (overall or in last 60 hours)
  • GRE of 147 in both Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning
    OR GMAT of 500
    OR proof of active healthcare practitioner's license

The department can review students on a case-by-case basis for probationary admission.

Accelerated Master's Degree Requirements:
  • Junior Standing with at least 75 credit hours completed
  • Limit of 12 hours (500 level)
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0
  • 2 letters of recommendation
  • Personal statement

    Foundation of knowledge relating to the components of an effective risk management and ethics program in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. (3)
  • HA 620. Research Methods in Healthcare
    Introduction to research and program evaluation in a healthcare setting. (3)
  • HA 681. Health Administration Policy
    A case-based capstone course in healthcare policy, including impact on health issues and analysis. (3)

  • Dr. Kevin Dickson joined the department in 2004. He is a professor of management in the Department of Management in the Donald L. Harrison College of Business and Computing. Dr. Dickson has a Ph.D. in management from the University of Texas at Austin. He also received a Master of Organizational Behavior and Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University.
