Become a Trainer

How do I become a Personal Trainer for Recreational Services?

Every spring semester, Rec Services offers a Professional Skill Development course on campus for those who are interested in a career in fitness. This course will provide both a lecture and practical training to gain necessary knowledge and hands-on skills in personal training individuals. You may choose to interview and audition for a Personal Trainer position in Recreational Services at the end of course. If hired, you then have 6 months to attain your Personal Training certification through one of the following organizations: ACSM, ACE, NASM, NSCA or AFAA.
