Who We Are:
LGBTQ+ Resources works to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for our SEMO community. We serve as a campus and community resource. We accomplish our mission through the development of healthy communities, purposeful partnerships, and leadership development within a culture of celebration and inclusion.
Our Goals:
- To provide SafeZone training sessions, discussion groups, campus-wide events, and access to resources that reflect and support the SEMO campus.
- Serve as a source of awareness, information, and resources for the SEMO campus on LGBTQ identity, culture, and issues.
- Support students in their development of skills, knowledge, and awareness of the world around them enabling them to create a positive environment.
- To promote education and understanding of the LGBTQ+ community through training, resource materials, programming, and community outreach.
Mission:
LGBTQ+ Resources seeks to create a welcoming, inclusive, and affirming campus environment for students. LGBTQ+ Resources strives to engage and provide resources, support, educational training workshops, and programming to empower and promote equity.
Vision:
LGBTQ+ Resources envisions a campus community that actively and openly affirms, celebrates, and encourages the free expression of everyone’s sexual and romantic orientations and/or gender identity and expression. LGBTQ+ Resources supports our students, faculty, and staff to empower us to find shared humanity and strength within ourselves and each other. Our advocacy seeks to provide resources and educational training to our campus communication.

Safe Zone
The Safe Zone Program at Southeast consists of a 2-hour training session which includes lecture, discussion and interactive activities to provide you with tools to be an ally to the LGBTQ+ community. Safe Zone training presentations are scheduled throughout the year and are available for faculty and staff, and for students.
