We in Law Enforcement must be governed in our daily actions by the Judicial point of view. This is where we win or lose, succeed or fail, in court. We can be the most conscientious officer in the world, do the most complete investigation available, and protect all of the rights of the suspect, but if we can't convey what we have done in a complete, concise, comprehensive and objective report, we have wasted our time. This writing course begins with the reasons for clear and concise reports, deals with the tense and voice of the good police report, and shows how to construct the police report so that it is of the most value to supervisors, prosecutors and the courts.
