The Department of Mass Media, Art, and Design has studios, shops, and galleries where you can learn and practice. From a welding shop to a TV production studio, we have opportunities for you.
Art Studios
Explore the creative spaces where ideas become finished work. Dedicated studios, labs, and classrooms for studio art, photography, graphic and web design, animation, and digital media are equipped with professional-grade tools, technology, and software that prepare you for creative careers.
KRCU
Experience public broadcasting first-hand at KRCU. Students produce news and audio content, learn professional broadcast operations, and gain real-world experience while serving listeners across Southeast Missouri and the surrounding region.
Rose Theatre
Rose Theatre is a versatile performance venue designed for productions, screenings, presentations, and special events. Equipped to support creative work across disciplines, it provides students with a professional setting to present their talents and engage with audiences.
River Campus
The River Campus is a one-of-a-kind creative learning environment where artists, designers, performers, and media professionals learn alongside one another. Purpose-built for creative education, SEMO students create, exhibit, and refine their craft.
Dobbins Center
More than a residence hall, this creative living-learning community features modern spaces where art, design, and performance students create, collaborate, and grow. With dedicated practice rooms, creative workspaces, and a student gallery, you'll have the resources to develop your skills and showcase your work.

Rust Center for Media
The Rust Center for Media features more than 13,000 square feet of creative space designed for hands-on learning. From production studios, webcast and photo labs, and podcast booths to a working newsroom, you'll create professional-quality work while developing the skills and experience needed for a career in media.
Arts Resource Center
The ARC provides access to specialized collections supporting the Departments of Mass Media, Art, & Design, Music, and Theatre and Dance. The ARC is located at the River Campus and serves as a liaison to Kent Library.
