During the planning process, several initiatives emerged to support the achievement of the plan's goals. These initiatives are outlined below. We anticipate further development of both the initiatives and the tactics that support them as we share the plan with campus and community. As implementation moves forward, progress on the initiatives as well as updates as they evolve will continue to be shared here.  

EMERGING INITIATIVES

  • Develop streamlined course pathways and scheduling
  • Expand the number of 90-credit hour degree programs
  • Develop alumni/employer mentoring program and speaker ’s series
  • Redesign new student onboarding and the first-year experience
  • Develop SEMO Cares Teams
  • Strengthen academic advising
  • Embed skill, career, entrepreneurship development, and financial literacy counseling into the curriculum
  • Establish a campus culture of care, prioritizing mental and physical well-being
  • Foster off-campus community and professional connections
