Transfer Information
Will my course credit transfer?
Vocational and technical courses usually don't qualify. All of your grades transfer, including failing ones, and count toward your GPA at SEMO. If you took a course more than once, we only count your most recent grade. Community college coursework won't count as senior-level credit, regardless of the course number used, and if a course or college isn't listed, it will be evaluated once you transfer. Courses with no direct match come in as elective credit.
If you want an elective course reviewed for a specific major, minor, or general education requirement, send a course description or syllabus to registrartransfer@semo.edu. To get approval before you enroll, use the Request for Approval of Transfer Credit form.
Courses from education companies like study.com are not currently accepted as traditional transfer credit. However, you may be able to receive Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) for that work.
How do my courses transfer?
Use the Transfer Equivalency System (TES) to see how your courses will transfer to SEMO! Also, check out our Credit-By-Exam equivalencies to see how your AP A-levels or other exams transfer.
Looking for a seamless path from an associate's degree to a bachelor's degree at SEMO?
Earn your associate's degree through one of our partnering Community Colleges and seamlessly transfer to SEMO to complete your bachelor's degree.
What college are you transferring from?
Missouri Reverse Transfer
Missouri Reverse Transfer allows individuals who have completed credits for an associate degree to receive that degree even if they have transferred to a four-year college or university. Individuals who are not currently attending college may be eligible to complete an associate degree through the program.
Degree Works Transfer Equivalency
Use our online degree audit system to place your transfer coursework into the major of your choice and track your degree progress at SEMO! Upon admission to SEMO, results may vary within the official Degree Works audit.
