Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS®)

LETRS® is a professional development course that bridges deep, meaningful research into practical classroom success. LETRS® provides educators with the background, depth of knowledge, and tools to teach language and literacy skills to every student. LETRS® can be used regardless of the literacy program in use. This PD incorporates text, online, and face-to-face processing of the Science of Reading.

Aspire®

Aspire® is a professional development opportunity designed for all educators who teach middle school (grades 6-9). This training equips ELA and content-area teachers to implement adaptable, evidence-based strategies rooted in the Science of Reading to assist students with improving their reading and writing. Aspire® empowers educators with the knowledge and tools needed to support students struggling with literacy, fostering proficient readers and writers in the classroom.

Dyslexia

A minimum of 2 hours of PD is mandated for K-12 educators each year in Missouri. Administrators and teachers are provided with State guidance on the Dyslexia mandate, optimal screeners, characteristics of dyslexia, and evidence-based strategies to accommodate students with dyslexic characteristics. This training could be provided as a series or a one-time session, and could be K-12 or segmented into diverse elementary and/or secondary.
