The Zoology, Botany and Evolutionary Biology option prepares students for graduate study in field biology, botany, zoology and ecology. Students explore the diversity, evolution and biology of living organisms while building a strong foundation for further study and research.
Where Bold Ideas Take Shape in zoology and botany
The Zoology and Botany curriculum combines coursework in evolutionary biology, ecology, plant biology and animal biology, giving students a broad foundation in the biological sciences.
Students can:
- Build their scientific foundation through courses in physics, organic chemistry, geology and calculus.
- Gain hands-on experience at the Miller Reserve Wetlands Restoration Project, Kelso Wildlife Sanctuary and Reis Biological Research Station.
- Work with faculty advisors who are active in research and involve students in their research programs.
What Can You Do with a Zoology and Botany Degree?
SEMO’s Zoology and Botany program gives students opportunities to apply what they learn through research, field experiences and hands-on study. Graduates have gone on to careers and advanced study at institutions across the country.
