Southeast Missouri State University’s spring 2026 Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduates achieved a 100% first-time pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), surpassing the national average of 73.9% and confirming their readiness to begin their careers as registered nurses.
The NCLEX-RN determines whether candidates are prepared to safely and effectively practice as a registered nurse. Passing the examination is a key step for BSN graduates as they enter the nursing profession.
“This outstanding accomplishment reflects the hard work and dedication of the students, staff and nursing faculty,” said Dr. Kyle Schneider, interim director of SEMO’s School of Health Sciences. “It also represents the high quality of SEMO’s nursing program in preparing graduates with the knowledge and skills to enter this critical profession.”
SEMO’s BSN program combines a strong foundation in nursing with hands-on learning experiences in a variety of healthcare settings. Students gain experience through clinical placements and practice their skills in state-of-the-art simulation labs designed to replicate real-world patient care environments.
“Our students put in countless hours of studying and preparation for this exam,” said Dr. Gina Koch, associate professor and nursing program lead. “Our faculty are equally committed to making sure students get the support they need. I look forward to seeing the difference these graduates will make as nurses.”
