Matching Passion with a Program
The College of Humanities and Social Sciences has nearly 30 undergraduate and graduate programs across six departments in the college, graduating innovative, ethical and collaborative problem solvers.
By the Numbers
Southeast Missouri State is fortunate to have a University Press. In addition to the work the Press does in promoting important works, it also provides an invaluable learning laboratory for students who get hands-on experience in all aspect of small press publishing.
Law Enforcement Officers
Not only does Southeast offer a criminal justice bachelor’s degree, but we are also home to the Law Enforcement Academy where community’s find those called to protect and serve. In addition to training in all areas of law enforcement, the Academy also focuses on community relations between police and the communities they serve.
Accepted into Law School
Our political science and philosophy graduates who apply to law school get accepted. Southeast offers bachelor’s degrees in both areas as well as a pre-law area of study which prepares students well. In addition, the Department just entered into a partnership with Mizzou Law to help our students earn their degree faster.
Historic Preservation Programs Nationally
Southeast is proud to be the home of just one of nine historic preservation programs in the entire country. It’s a program we focus on hands-on learning with culture-rich projects in some of Missouri’s most historical communities plus a two-week field school held every summer.
Accreditation affirms the high-level quality of the programs and the commitment to continuous improvement.
