Promotions for Fall 2027 New Students

$1,000 Scholarship

  • Submit the FAFSA and have it sent to SEMO by February 1, 2027 (SEMO’s FAFSA Code is 002501)
  • Eligible students include domestic, undergraduate, first-time freshmen, and first-time transfers
  • Ten winners will be randomly selected from all applicants who submitted a 2027-2028 FAFSA by February 1, 2027
  • The value of the award is $1,000 per person ($500 Fall and $500 Spring).
  • Awarded for the 2027-2028 academic year only
  • The student must be admitted to SEMO and enroll full-time for the Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 semesters
  • Non-renewable award
  • No cash value
  • SEMO employees and dependents of SEMO employees are not eligible for the award

Enrollment Fee Waiver

  • Register for First STEP or Transfer orientation by March 1, 2027, at 11:59 p.m.
  • Eligible students include domestic, undergraduate, first-time freshmen, and first-time transfers
  • Twenty winners will be randomly selected from all applicants who registered for orientation for Fall 2027 by March 1, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. and meets additional requirements
  • The value of the award is $150 for first-time freshman and $100 for first-time transfers
  • Awarded for the 2027-2028 academic year only
  • Student must be admitted to SEMO and enroll full-time for the Fall 2027
  • Non-renewable award
  • No cash value
  • SEMO employees and dependents of SEMO employees are not eligible for the award
  • Students enrolled exclusively in online courses or at a regional campus are not eligible for the award

Register for First STEP

Housing Deposit Waiver

  • Admitted students are eligible for a $150 housing deposit waiver when they attend an Admissions-sponsored campus visit event on or before June 1, 2027.

  • Eligible students include domestic, undergraduate, first-time freshmen, and first-time transfers
  • The value of the award is $150
  • Awarded for the 2027-2028 academic year only
  • Student must be admitted to SEMO and enroll full-time for the Fall 2027
  • Recipients must live in a University residence hall in 2027-2028
  • Admission-sponsored events include Weekday Walking Tour & Admissions Presentation, Saturday Campus Tour, Pilot Program Airport Tour, River Campus Tour, Twilight Tour, Show Me Day, Holland College Open House, Cyber Career & Game Development Day, Show Me STEM Day, Health Professions Day, and Future Teacher Day
  • Students can register to visit campus
  • Non-renewable award
  • No cash value
  • Students enrolled exclusively in online courses or at a regional campus are not eligible for the award
