Doing your dream job before landing your dream job

Experiential learning—just another way of saying learning through real-world experiences. At Southeast we believe education means more than classroom experience. That’s why, here, you’ll conduct experiments in the Arctic Circle, automate a manufacturing process, treat patients in Central America, work at a research farm, and learn in the exact type of facilities you’ll one day find yourself employed—all as part of your curriculum.

The college is committed to the concepts of student-centered education and experiential learning. This may take the form of undergraduate research, internships, capstone experiences, or in-class activities. Research and scholarly activity play an important role in our educational programs. Many students are given the opportunity to work with faculty on cutting-edge research, present their work at professional conferences, become co-authors of publications, and participate in professional organizations. These often allow students to learn more about their field and connect with others in the field.

Excellence in teaching and research, high quality service, outstanding students and successful alumni are hallmarks of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Come see how we can give you the tools for your success!
