Ethernocke, an exhibition of digital prints by Grace Ratermann, will be on view from Friday, November 6 through Friday, November 27, at the Nest Gallery on the first floor of Kent Library.

Grace Ratermann is a senior at Southeast Missouri State University, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. They focus on visual narratives and animation inspired by childhood cartoons and anime. Before coming to SEMO, they earned an associate’s degree at St. Louis Community College on an A+ scholarship. They transferred to SEMO for their junior year to attend classes more suited to their goal of eventually becoming a narrative visual artist.

Ethernocke is a story that Ratermann has been working on for 2 years. This exhibition showcases characters within the story. Separate from reality, Ethernocke is a realm of perception, born from the remains of gods dead from a war fought long ago with the exception of the oldest of the gods. To keep stability within all realms, the god weaved together Ethernocke and has held it together since. This exhibition explores the realm of Ethernocke and its characters. It is both an evolution of Ratermann’s style and goals, and is an ongoing project. They are eager to share with everyone what they have created for Ethernocke and will continue to create in the future.

An opening reception for Ethernocke will take place on Friday, November 6 from 4-6 pm in the Nest Gallery.

The Nest Gallery is located on the first floor of Kent Library. All gallery exhibitions are free and open to the public. For more information contact Dr. Joni Hand at jhand@semo.edu.
