518 S. Fountain St, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701
Midwest Memorial, an Exhibition of Paintings by Alex Chadbourne, will be on view April 3-24 at the Nest Gallery in the Seminary Building on River Campus.
Chadbourne is a junior pursuing a BFA in Art with a specialization in Painting. For him, painting has always been an outlet to express concepts and ideas that felt too complex for words. Through high school and college, it has been a way for him to find community and connect to others that feel the same way.
Additionally, art history is an influence for Chadbourne, involving the study of human emotions, ideals and rules. The way that people throughout history found different ways to express ideas uniquely is what inspires him to create art.
An opening reception for Midwest Memorial will take place on Friday, April 10 from 5-7 p.m. in the Nest Gallery.
The Nest Gallery is an intimate exhibition space reserved for students interested in solo or group exhibitions, located on the first floor of the Seminary Building. The Nest Gallery is open during normal University business hours. All gallery exhibitions, events and talks are free and open to the public.
