Master of Science Applied Computer Science

Program Description

The Master of Science in Applied Computer Science prepares you for career advancement in the computing field. This 30-credit hour program covers a broad range of courses in applied computer science such as software development, data analytics, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, emerging and converging technologies, and more. Additionally, students focus their knowledge base in specific areas of interest. It provides both a thesis and a project option.

Built towards career advancement for current computer science professionals, to prepare for doctoral studies, and prepares students with no background in computer science.

Students may begin in fall, spring, and summer semesters and can complete the program in two years by taking 6 credit hours each semester for 5-6 semesters (including summer).

Course work focuses on developing skillsets currently in demand in the marketplace.

Admissions Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field
    *Students with bachelor’s degrees from other fields will be required to take up to 2 prerequisites (provisional admission).
  • Minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 point scale
  • Completed at least 6 hours of science and 6 hours of mathematics in undergraduate degree
