Hosted by SEMO’s Office of International Education and Services, attendees can explore cultures from around the world without leaving Southeast Missouri. The festival reflects the University’s commitment to fostering deeply connected relationships through shared experiences.  Carpe Diem has grown into one of SEMO’s most anticipated events, highlighting the traditions of over 60 countries that students, faculty and staff call home.

“Carpe Diem is our “Super Bowl” for SEMO international students. It’s a time when our students truly shine,” said Kevin Timlin, executive director of International Education and Services at SEMO. “They take an enormous amount of pride in sharing their countries’ stories and perspectives. This is an opportunity for us to support our international students and celebrate their important contributions to our campus and community.”

Throughout the evening, guests can sample international cuisine, interact with student-led cultural displays and enjoy live performances that reflect global music, dance and fashion. Carpe Diem is February 28 from 6-9 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center and is free and open to the public.
