The Crisp Museum collects in three thematic areas: archaeology, history, and fine art.

The museum provides changing exhibitions, didactic displays, and educational programs for the University community and general public. Collections are also available to scholars and students conducting academic research.

Archaeology Collections

The museum displays a collection of prehistoric Native American artifacts of tribes that resided in the Southeast Missouri region hundreds and even thousands of years ago. Some artifacts in this collection are considered to be more than 15,000 years old.

Historical Collection

The historical collection contains more recent historical pieces. Much of the collection is comprised of firearms, tools, and artifacts from midwestern river history.

Fine Arts Collection

Our fine arts collection displays a diverse selection of historical and modern art. Explore our collection in person or view a few of our paintings online.
