Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Seminar
Spend spring break in Washington, D.C., with CSIS.
SEMO students return to Washington, D.C., this spring for a seminar on international and domestic policy with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). The seminar runs March 15-19 during spring break. SEMO is still the only university that spends a full week with CSIS.
Applications are due Friday, Oct. 30.
Seminar Details

- Cost: $500 after a $500 scholarship
- Eligibility: 3.0 GPA minimum and at least 60 credit hours completed by the start of spring 2027

Who can apply:
Students with a minimum 3.0 GPA who will have completed at least 60 credit hours by the start of the spring 2027 semester.
What it costs:
The CSIS workshop and travel fee is $1,000. Thanks to generous donors, every participant receives a $500 scholarship, so students pay $500.
The course:
Participants enroll in UI498, the CSIS Seminar. The class meets Tuesdays from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 19, Feb. 9, March 9, March 23 and April 6. The group travels to Washington, D.C. over spring break.
