SEMO Board of Governors Sets 2025-2026 Tuition and Fee Schedule

  • Board of Governors

The Southeast Missouri State University Board of Governors set tuition and fees for the 2025-2026 academic year. The approved changes reflect a modest, average increase of 3.1 percent in tuition rates while holding steady general fees.

“The tuition adjustment reflects the realities of rising costs while maintaining our focus on delivering a high-quality education and keeping SEMO one of the most affordable public institutions in Missouri,” said Interim Vice President for Finance & Administration Diana Harley.

Undergraduate domestic tuition was set at $295 per credit hour with graduate domestic tuition set at $395 per credit hour. Regional campus tuition was set at $210 per credit hour. There was no change to general fees.

Key Highlights of the 2025-2026 Tuition and Fee Schedule:

  • Tuition Increase: Average 3.1% across all categories
  • No General Fee Increase for undergraduate or graduate students
  • No Tuition Increase for high school students enrolled in dual credit, dual enrollment, or early college credit programs

Course-Specific Fees
To improve cost transparency and eliminate unexpected expenses, Harley says the University annually reviews course-specific fees to reflect the cost of consumable supplies and materials unique to particular classes. These fees, approved through a review process that included faculty and student representatives, remain eligible for education tax credits and financial aid. Several courses in the departments of Art & Design, Theatre & Dance, and Music will see increases to course fees to offset the rising cost of materials students use in the classes.
