River Campus special events range from original collaborative works from HCAM departments to rental events. Bring your someone special and enjoy the show. Currently enrolled Southeast students get in free for university produced events by presenting their Southeast ID for a ticket, at the River Campus Box Office or online. 

Restaurant Hop

Tuesday, March 24, 2026 / Enjoy signature items from Cape Girardeau restaurants and businesses participating in the “Restaurant Hop”, Tuesday, March 24, 2026, benefitting Southeast Missouri State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance. The restaurant hop works like a punch card, and tickets will have the logos of the participating restaurants on them. Each eatery will serve its signature item, and participants can choose to go to any or all the participating restaurants and eateries in the three-hour time span of 4:30-7:30 pm. You do not have to start or end at a particular location. Participants will be directed to the tables involved at the respective restaurants, and Theatre and Dance students will assist the patrons at each restaurant. Tickets for the Hop are $15.00. This year’s restaurant roster includes Andy’s Frozen Custard, Bistro Saffron, Broussard’s Cajun Cuisine, Ciao Ristorante + Enoteca, Ebb and Flow Fermentations, Fresh Healthy Café (Cape Location, Corner of Kingshighway and Mt. Auburn), Mississippi Mutts, Port Cape Girardeau Restaurant and Lounge, Primo Vino, Scooter’s Coffee (Cape Location, Corner of Kingshighway and Mt. Auburn), Spectrum Record Lounge, Water & William Olive Oil Co., and Wings Etc. (Cape Location on William). The Theatre and Dance Society, host of the event, will use proceeds to fund the annual Senior Showcase in New York City. The Senior Showcase is an opportunity for graduating seniors to perform in front of a variety of agents and casting directors! Tickets can be purchased online through Southeast's Conservatory of Theatre and Dance or on the night of the event at the door of all participating restaurants.

Broadway Bound

April 18. The Jeanine Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance invites the community to an unforgettable evening celebrating the next generation of theatre artists at Broadway Bound: Senior Send Off at the Cultural Arts Center on the River Campus. The event begins when doors open at 5:45 p.m., with a social hour beginning immediately. Preshow programming begins at 6:30, followed by a 7:30 final dress rehearsal performance of the New York City BFA Showcase in the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall. This inspiring event honors BFA Musical Theatre and BFA in Acting graduating seniors as they prepare to take their talents to New York City, as well as BFA Design and Technology seniors preparing to launch their careers in the entertainment industry. Guests will enjoy an evening of light entertainment, hors d'oeuvres, and drinks while connecting with our talented graduating seniors. The evening will feature a small raffle and live auction, with all proceeds directly supporting students as they transition from conservatory training to professional careers. Funds raised will provide select seniors the opportunity to travel to New York City for a series of master classes and to present their Senior Showcase for agents and casting directors- an essential launching point as they begin their careers in theatre and dance. Tickets are $50 per person, or tables of eight available for purchase at $375. Seating is limited. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP by April 14, 2026. Celebrate the Arts

May 1 at 7:30 p.m., Bedell Performance Hall. Ticket prices range from $15.75 - $19.25, discounts available. This vibrant annual event brings together the creative forces of the Holland College of Arts and Media for a compelling evening of live performance. It is a celebration of collaboration, featuring the Southeast Jazz Studio, the talented students from the Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance, and the Department of Music, original work by BFA students from the Department of Art + Design and the Department of Mass Media. More than just a showcase of talent, the event serves as a creative platform for students to engage in cross-disciplinary artistic exploration, pushing the boundaries of their respective fields. Through this shared experience, students are able to present their innovative work to the broader community. This event plays a crucial role in supporting the students’ professional growth, as proceeds help fund both national and international performance tours for Southeast students.
