At the River Campus, our Music students and faculty participate in performances that range from solo shows to ensembles in a variety of genres. Support our Department of Music and get tickets today. Currently enrolled Southeast students get in free for university produced events by presenting their Southeast ID for a ticket, at the River Campus Box Office or online.

Season ticket packages are on sale now. Email tickets@semo.edu or call us at (573) 651-2265 for details. Individual ticket sales begin August 24. Currently enrolled SEMO students can get a free ticket, for their personal use, to non-rental / HCAM produced events; select the ticket link or stop by the River Campus box office to get your ticket. A valid SEMO ID will be required to be shown upon entry to the venue.
SEPT. 1: Highs and Lows: Chapa and Jarrett in Recital
Shuck Music Recital Hall. 7:30 p.m. Free Event. Michael Chapa and Madison Jarrett present an eclectic recital celebrating the surprising versatility and expressive range of a unique instrumental pairing: Saxophone and Tuba. Featuring music that spans Baroque, Classical, modern, funk, and beyond, the program highlights works and influences from composers around the world. Chapa and Jarrett will be joined by Dr. Dan Kubus, piano, along with additional guest performers for an evening of bold colors, unexpected combinations, and dynamic musical collaboration.

Shuck Music Recital Hall. 7:30 p.m. Bold and resonant, St. Louis Symphony Principal Trombonist Jonathan Randazzo and SEMO Assistant Professor of Trombone Felipe Brito join forces for an electrifying recital that reveals the full expressive power of their instrument. Bedell Performance Hall. 7:30 p.m. Inspired by themes of light, reflection, and transcendence, Church Windows explores music of deep emotional and spiritual power. The program features Alfred Reed’s luminous Alleluia! Laudamus Te and culminates with David Maslanka’s Symphony No. 4. Experience the full depth and power of the modern wind band at its finest. Bedell Performance Hall. 7:30 p.m. Free Event. Two events in one! At 7:30 p.m. enjoye the Trick or Treat Concert - A family-friendly concert of popular works for percussion. The audience is encouraged to dress in Halloween costumes. Treats will be distributed after this portion of the event. Then at 8:30 p.m. listen to Life: A Journey Through Time. A 60-minute multimedia piece for chamber orchestra featuring the music of Philip Glass and performed with visuals by National Geographic photographer Frans Lanting.

Join soprano Shannon Jongema and pianist Dr. Barbara Lamont, along with a few special guests, for an evening of music centering women's stories of resilience and reclamation through history. The program will feature works by Händel, Strauss, Larsen, and Dunphy.
NOV. 12: SEMO Saxophone Studio Fall Recital
Shuck Music Recital Hall. 7:30 p.m. Free Event. The SEMO Saxophone Studio presents an evening celebrating the versatility, creativity, and collaborative spirit of the saxophone. Featuring solo performances by student musicians, chamber ensembles, and the SEMO Saxophone Choir, this recital will showcase the depth and range of the saxophonists on River Campus. The program will include original works for saxophone, music by student composers, and imaginative transcriptions, along with a special appearance by a visiting guest artist.

FEB. 19: Clark Terry /Phi Mu Alpha Jazz Festival Concert
Bedell Performance Hall. 7:30 p.m. Award-winning drummer, composer, and bandleader Jared Schonig has toured and recorded internationally with artists such as The 8-Bit Big Band, Nicholas Payton, and Chris Potter, and has appeared on multiple Grammy-winning records. A fixture on Broadway, he has held chairs for The Color Purple and Moulin Rouge! The Musical, and currently performs nightly in the hit show Just In Time. Schonig co-led The Wee Trio (five critically acclaimed albums), released two solo albums in 2021, and has performed worldwide from Carnegie Hall to international festivals. General admission seating.
