Labratories

Learning in the Department of Chemistry and Mathematics goes beyond the classroom. You'll have access to 11 laboratories and advanced technology that support hands-on learning, scientific research, and mathematical exploration. Located within SEMO's multi-million-dollar science complex, these spaces provide opportunities to conduct experiments, analyze data, solve complex problems, and gain practical experience using industry-standard equipment. Whether you're studying chemistry or mathematics, you'll develop the skills and confidence to tackle real-world challenges.

DataFest

DataFest is a high‑energy, nationwide competition where undergraduate teams dive into a large, real‑world data set from a well‑known corporate sponsor and work to uncover insights in a single, fast‑paced weekend. Hosted at the University of Missouri and organized by the Mid‑Missouri Chapter of the American Statistical Association, the event gives students hands‑on experience with big data, collaboration, and presenting results to industry professionals.
