SEMO is where learning meets real clinical practice.

The School of Health Sciences gives students access to facilities that mirror the real thing. SEMO has seven nursing simulation labs in Crisp Hall stocked with clinical-grade equipment, Missouri's only university-based speech and hearing clinic, and dedicated spaces for athletic training and health sciences. Faculty who work in these facilities are credentialed in their fields and hold their programs to national standards.

Specialized Lab Spaces

Healthcare is learned by doing. SEMO's dedicated labs recreate the environments students will encounter throughout their careers, providing safe, realistic spaces to practice clinical skills, collaborate with classmates, and gain confidence before entering clinical placements.

The Center for Speech and Hearing

SEMO's Center for Speech and Hearing is the only university-based, stand-alone clinic of its kind in Missouri, and students are the ones delivering care. From evaluations to therapy sessions, you'll work directly with real clients of all ages under faculty supervision, giving you the clinical hours and confidence from day one.

Comprehensive Clinical Spaces

Students learn in a variety of clinical settings, including 12 therapy rooms, a life skills kitchen, hospitals, schools, orthopedic clinics, and other healthcare facilities. These experiences help build the confidence and practical skills needed for a successful career in health sciences.

State-of-the-Art Equipment

Students train with the same technologies and equipment used by today's healthcare professionals. More than 80 manikins, including 12 high-fidelity simulation models, along with clinical-grade tools, standardized assessments, rehabilitation equipment, and communication devices ensure every student graduates ready to step into practice.
