Hands-On Learning

An education student smiles while working with children at a local school.

Southeast believes students learn by doing, which is why we provide hands-on learning opportunities starting from day one.

Professors incorporate their real-world experiences into their lessons, while internships, learning facilities and other projects allow students to learn beyond the classroom.

Work with Professionals

In Cape Girardeau, students have opportunities to work, intern, and job shadow in almost any industry imaginable. You'll be able to work with professionals in your field of study to learn first-hand what you can do after graduating. Some majors even have working with professionals built into your courses.

The TV/Film program is preparing me for a successful career by allowing me to work both on my own and with other students to produce videos and learn what it’s like to be in the industry. The hands-on use of professional equipment is also extremely beneficial to our learning process.
