Southeast Missouri State University will connect students with future careers at the Fall Career Expo on Wednesday, September 30 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Show Me Center.
Each year, employers from across the region attend SEMO’s Career Expo to seek and recruit motivated students for internships and full-time positions. Over 130 employers will cover a wide range of fields including education, healthcare, agriculture, technology, business and more. Students can connect with leading organizations such as Federal Bureau of Investigation, Saint Louis University School of Law, Enterprise Mobility, ATB Technologies and BJC Healthcare.
“Students will get a chance to meet with recruiters and practice networking skills, which are so valuable when looking for employment,” said Amy Aldridge, coordinator of experiential learning with SEMO’s Career Services. “It is a busy, fun day for all students. Even if they are not quite ready for an internship or job, it’s an excellent way to see how the event works and to start making contacts for the future.”
The University also partners with Handshake, a social career platform designed for emerging talent, where students can explore job postings and connect with businesses that align with their interests and experience. Handshake allows students to view all organizations registered to attend the Fall Career Expo.
The Office of Career Services encourages students to dress to impress, recommending professional business attire. Attendees are also advised to bring copies of their resumes.
