Southeast Missouri State University’s campus will be abuzz with students and their families from Sept. 15-17 for Family Weekend festivities.
The 2023 Family Weekend plans include numerous events and open houses, highlighted by a home football game against SIUC on Saturday night at the new Houck Field.
The University Center will be feature family-friendly competitive events for students and their families to take part in, along with a list of activities, both on and off campus.
“Family Weekend is a fantastic time for everyone involved,” said Michele Irby, director of Campus Life and Event Services. “Families get to explore the campus, and students get to showcase their college life. With a plethora of events to choose from, there’s something for every family to enjoy.”
The first Southeast Family Weekend took place in 1977. The weekend, originally called Parents Weekend, was created for the families of football players. Since then, it has evolved to include all students and their families with a comprehensive schedule of activities.
