Southeast Missouri State University students, faculty and staff are getting closer to the 70% vaccination rate goal that is part of The Great SEMO Vaccine Give Away Get Away incentive program, with 58.3% of the Redhawk community sharing proof of their vaccination status.
To keep the momentum going, the University is updating the incentive program to include those who have received at least one dose of the vaccine. This change recognizes that the first dose is the first step to being fully vaccinated. Individuals who provide proof of receiving one dose are not included in the vaccination rate shared today but will be included in the University vaccination rate moving forward.
Students, faculty and staff can get their first dose or second dose at any of the weekly walk-in vaccination clinics that are scheduled every Wednesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the University Center Program Lounge.
Members of the Redhawk community can upload a scan or photo of their vaccination card or present their card in person at locations on the main and regional campuses. The vaccination rate for the campus community has steadily risen as the program progresses, with vaccination rates of 42% on Sept. 21 and 51% on Sept. 28.
Launched on Aug. 26, The Great SEMO Vaccine Give Away Get Away incentive program provides cash prizes to students that participate and will give students, faculty and staff the whole week of Thanksgiving (Nov. 22-26) off if the 70% vaccination goal is reached by Nov. 1.
The University also announced the second round of student cash prize drawing winners on Monday, Oct. 4. There were 20 $500 prize and 20 $250 prize winners for the drawing.
