With many of our students headed off to participate in internships and various summer experiences, Southeast’s University Communications is seeking tips on feature stories about fascinating, competitive, unusual or high-tech internships or experiences Southeast students will be engaged in this summer.
Their stories will be featured on the University website, in social media and in regional media outlets throughout the summer months as part of University Communication’s Will To Do Wednesday series.
Do you know of students who are interning abroad this summer? Do you know students who are participating in legislative internships in Washington, D.C.? Do you know of students engaged in scientific or agricultural research? Are you aware of any students interning for major corporations in cybersecurity, finance, marketing, accounting, management, etc.? Do we have students exploring entrepreneurial ventures? Do we have students completing dietetic internships or students interning in health care settings, in sporting venues, in hospitality management settings or with interior design firms? Are there any Southeast students interning for theatre companies, in manufacturing-related areas or in historic preservation settings? Are there student teachers who have recently completed their semesters work in area schools who we might highlight?
These are the types of stories University Communications is interested in, although we are open to any other ideas you might have.
Last summers stories included students interning at Ameren, the Gateway Grizzlies, Allstate, MGM Resorts International, Project Youth Extension Service for Military, the City of Cape Girardeau, the St. Louis Zoo, an art gallery in New York City,Island Dolphin Care Assisted Therapy, and Toyoda Gosei, as well as stories about students conducting research projects withMcNair Research at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and theNationalScience Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates in the U.S. and Paris, France.
