The Southeast Missouri State University River Campus Art Gallery will hold its annual Salon des Refuss exhibition, featuring original Southeast student artwork.The exhibition will be on display from April 3-12 with a reception from 5-7 p.m. on April 5.The Salon des Refuss runs concurrently with the Annual Juried Student Exhibition displayed in the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum. The show gives Southeast students the opportunity to show one piece of artwork from any medium that was submitted but not selected for the annual student exhibition. This provides students the opportunity to display artwork they feel strongly about, and together, the pieces provide a diverse mix of mediums and concepts.Spotlighted pieces including works from all areas, including ceramics, digital art, drawing, fibers, graphic design, illustration, painting, printmaking and sculpture. There are typically 25-30 pieces of artwork.This show is a dynamic extension of the Annual Juried Exhibition, said Justin Miller, associate professor of art and exhibitions coordinator. Students get to choose one piece they have created in the past year to display in the gallery. Viewers will see a diverse mix of mediums and subject matter, making for an exhibition with something for everyone.The River Campus Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the historic Seminary Building in Room 106.River Campus Art Gallery hours are 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-7 p.m. on First Fridays.
