Human Resources Presents Sharí Alexander as Administrative Professionals' Day Keynote Speaker

In recognition of Administrative Professionals Day, Human Resources Training and Development is sponsoring persuasiveness coach and speaker Shar Alexander.

In recognition of Administrative Professionals Day, Human Resources Training and Development will sponsor a presentation by persuasiveness coach and speaker Shar Alexander titled “Your Influential Personality Type: How to Be More Persuasive with the People Around You,” scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, in Glenn Auditorium of Robert A. Dempster Hall. The session will address why some individuals readily respond to certain ideas while others do not and will explain how different reactions can be linked to distinct communication preferences. Alexander will outline four “Influential Personality Types,” describing each type’s communication style, strategies for identifying the types, and methods for recognizing one’s own influential strengths and areas for improvement.

In addition, Alexander will present key phrases designed to enhance participants’ persuasive effectiveness with all four personality types and demonstrate subtle shifts that can make proposals more compelling in presentations, meetings, and one-on-one conversations with colleagues. Alexander’s work focuses on adapting influence techniques drawn from experts such as intelligence agents, hostage negotiators, and con artists into ethical, positive practices that help leaders become individuals whom others are motivated to follow. Her clientele includes chief operating officers, politicians, professional athletes in the NFL and NBA, television and film producers, news commentators for networks such as ESPN, HLN, and NBC, and New York Times bestselling authors, and she also contributes to Entrepreneur magazine and serves as a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California.

Southeast faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend Alexander’s presentation. Interested participants may register or obtain additional information by visiting the Human Resources Training and Development special events webpage or by contacting the office at the listed telephone number.
