In celebration of Womens History Month and International Womens Day, Southeast Missouri State University faculty members are hosting a panel discussion to celebrate the power of women and focus on women in Latin America.

The public is invited to attend Voces Latinas from 6-8 p.m. March 8 in the University Center Ballroom. Admission is free. Snacks will be provided.

Panelists and their areas of expertise include:

• Dr. Lissette Acosta, assistant professor of history
  Gender Based Violence in the Americas: From the Colonial Period to the Present
• Dr. Jennifer Bengtson, assistant professor of anthropology
  Women and Warfare: An Archaeological Perspective
• Dr. Debra Holzhauer, associate professor of political science
  The Role of Women in Latin American Politics
• Dr. Debbie Lee-DiStefano, professor of Spanish Language and Culture
  The Strength of Women: Powerful Female Voices Since the Conquest
• Dr. Kimberly Louie, assistant professor of Spanish
  Creative Non-Fiction: A Professional Arena for Hispanic Women Investigators
