Sigma Chi Fraternity, Epsilon Phi Chapter of Southeast Missouri State University will dedicate its new residential house as part of the Universitys Greek housing expansion on Thursday, Sept. 21.

The new house construction was completed this summer, and Sigma Chi fraternity members moved in during August with the start of the 2017 fall semester.

An open house begins at 5 p.m., to give attendees the opportunity to tour the newly finished construction prior to the dedication. The ceremony will start at 6 p.m. and last about an hour.

The dedication ceremony will be attended by Southeast Missouri State University President Carlos Vargas, the Sigma Chi Fraternity Grand Consul W. Thomas Geddings, as well as other distinguished University leadership, Sigma Chi alumni and active chapter membership.

The Epsilon Phi Chapter is one of 244 active chapters of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and was installed at Southeast Missouri State University April 10, 1960. Recently the chapter earned the highest honor bestowed upon a chapter when it received the Peterson Significant Chapter Award from its international fraternity headquarters.

The Sigma Chi house is part of the Southeast Greek Village and is located on the north end of the campus, north of the Show Me Center, bordered by North Sprigg Street and Alumni Drive. The Greek Village opened in fall 2016 with two fraternity houses. An additional two houses, including the Sigma Chi house, opened this fall.
