At SEMO, our choral ensembles consist of University Choir, Chamber Choir, and Choral Union. The Southeast Missouri State University Choral Ensemble features talented singers from various majors and backgrounds who have a passion and commitment for music. The ensembles explore the finest choral literature from various periods, perform a wide repertoire, and collaborate with others.

Choral Union

The Choral Union is SEMO's mixed choir. Both students and community members can have the opportunity to perform in the Choral Union. You don't even have to be a student to join this choir! It is open to all experienced and confident singers, and no audition is required.

University Choir

SEMO's University Choir is the premiere choir group on campus. You don't have to be a Music major to audition and perform. This choir performs with an emphasis on unaccompanied works, recent works, and other major works with the Choral Union and the Symphony Orchestra.

Opera

Perform opera through beautiful singing and innovative storytelling. Open to all students by audition, held the first week of fall classes. Participate in a fully staged opera and scenes program with solos, duets, and small ensembles each year.

  • University Choir:
    • Monday, Wednesday, Friday 1:30 - 2:45 p.m.
  • Chamber Choir:
    • Tuesday and Thursday 12:30 - 1:45 p.m.
  • Choral Union:
    • Monday 7 - 9 p.m.
