Yes, there is a process. But, it doesn’t need to be overwhelming and it doesn’t need to intimidate you. Let’s do this.

The requirements for admission vary depending on how you plan to enter Southeast. We’ll need to take into consideration where you’re coming from, how much prior education you’ve completed, and what type of degree or program you may want to earn.

Both past academic performance and the demonstration of academic promise are taken into consideration for admission to SEMO. Decisions are made without regard to race, color, creed, gender, disability or national origin.

How will you apply?

First-Time Freshman

You are a first-time freshman if you are attending college for the first time. Typically, you may be a high school junior or senior planning to attend Southeast in the summer or fall after graduation.

Transfer Student

You are a transfer student if you have completed coursework from a degree-granting program at an accredited U.S. Department of Education-recognized institution after graduating from high school.

Online Student

If you plan to complete your Southeast degree completely online, be sure to select “Web Only” under the “Location of Interest” field on the application for admission.

Adult Learner

If you’re over 21 and looking to start or complete a college degree, you’ll fit in as an adult learner. Whether you want to come to class part-time, full-time, online, or on-campus, we’re ready to support you.

If you’re a high school junior or senior looking to earn both high school and college credit for a course you’ll be taking, you’ll be considered an early college student. Dual credit courses are taught by Southeast instructors.
