General Education Student Forms

Student forms are available to students to complete General Education course substitutions, course transferring, military-based substitutions, and credit for prior learning.

Course SuBStitution 

Students should use the form below to request General Education credit for a transfer course taken at another institution or a non-General Education course taken at Southeast. The same form can be used to request a waiver of a General Education requirement. 

Students should discuss General Education substitutions or waivers with their academic advisor. After completing the form, students should obtain their advisor's signature on the form and submit the form to generaleducation@semo.edu.

Credit For Prior Learning

Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) allows you to demonstrate what you know about a subject to earn college credits.

Southeast Missouri State University offers a variety of opportunities for CPL, offering you the chance to reduce your time to degree and save money. Beyond standard credit by exam or military-related credit, academic departments and programs also offer unique ways to earn credits for experience you already have, either via portfolio, performance, certification, or other credentials.
