Chris Beaty is a Chicago-based artist working primarily in painting and drawing. His work explores fragmentation, perception and the lived experience of ADHD through layered, nonlinear compositions that reflect both personal cognition and contemporary image culture. He earned his BFA from SEMO in 2016, where formative faculty mentorship continues to inform his practice and professional life, and his MFA from the University of Illinois in 2020.

Fragments and Interruptions marks his return to SEMO, reflecting on ongoing dialogue between where his work began and where it continues to evolve.

Beaty currently teaches courses as an adjunct faculty member at North Central College (Naperville), University of St. Francis (Joliet) and Saint Xavier University (Chicago).
