Huhao Yang is a sound designer, engineer, and composer who comes from China and received his MFA degree in Sound Design from Purdue University. He is also the winner of the 2023 USITT Robert E. Cohen Sound Achievement Award.

Huhao has done extensive work in the field of sound in China and participated in professional audio production units including the China Central Television and Zhejiang Radio and TV Group. He received the 5th Sound Academy Award from the China Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers for his film sound works. His live show credits in China include: the China Central Television Spring Festival Gala (Production Assistant, Beijing), Voice of China (Pre Mixing Engineer, Shanghai), and Keep Running Reality Show (Recording Engineer, Hangzhou). Capsule Chook Music Festival (Sound Engineer, Hangzhou).

After coming to the United States, Huhao has been actively involved in doing sound design works for all kinds of live productions, his theatre credits include El Mito or the Myth of My Pain, Men on Boats, Fefu and Her Friends, Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play (Sound Designer and Composer, Nancy T. Hansen Theatre at Purdue), Entropics (Sound System Designer, Theater Wit at Chicago), This Land Was Made (Associate Sound Designer, Vineyard Theatre at NYC). Huhao also followed Chicago-based production company Centerstage and served as a sound engineer for many corporate events and productions across the nation, credits include the Ford Explorer Driving Experience Event (A1, Ann Arbor MI), Talents x Tech Conference (A1, Chicago IL), Ford 2025 Maverick Briefing (A1, Detroit MI), Toyota HQ Confidential (A2, Dallas TX), Kraft Heinz Global Town Hall (A2, Chicago IL), Fortress Real Estate Conference (A2, Los Angels CA), Wydnham Hotel Group Town Hall (A2, Somerset NJ).

Huhao's motto is to embrace infinite possibilities, he has the enthusiasm to devote himself to the sound field he loves. He hopes to further improve himself both as a teacher and sound artist at SEMO and create more wonderful shows.
