Dr. Deborah Caldwell is the Assistant Professor of Trumpet at Southeast Missouri State University. She is originally from Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and has previously served on the faculty of Frostburg State University and Erskine College where she conducted instrumental ensembles and taught trumpet, aural skills, theory, and music education courses.

She has performed with EuroBrass, King's Brass, the South Carolina Brass Band, Siloam Springs (AR) Music Festival Orchestra, the Anderson (SC) Symphony Orchestra, Johnstown (PA) Symphony Orchestra, and the Ozark Mountains British Brass Band among other ensembles.

Dr. Caldwell studied trumpet at the University of Georgia (Mr. Phillip Smith), Kansas State University (Dr. Gary Mortenson), and Ouachita Baptist University (Dr. Craig Hamilton). She has worked at Interlochen Arts Camp and Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and has conducted groups in Connecticut, Arkansas, Texas, South Carolina, Kansas, and South Korea. Dr. Caldwell has performed in over seven countries and is grateful for opportunities to bring people together around music. When not doing musical things, she enjoys watching football, doing jigsaw puzzles, and traveling!
