Jim Beers, M.M.

Jim Beers, Adjunct Instructor, serves as drum set instructor at Southeast Missouri State University. In addition to joining the music department in Spring ’23, Jim concurrently works as a music instructor at Rend Lake College and formerly at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and Shawnee Community College. He maintains a private studio in Carbondale, IL.??Jim earned both his M.M. (2013) and B.M. (2010) in Music Performance from Southern Illinois University under the tutelage of Ron Coulter. He continues working as a freelance percussionist in the region. Performance credits include: Southern Illinois Symphony Music Festival (principal percussion); SIU faculty jazz group New Arts Jazztet; Southern Illinois West African Drum Set Ensemble.
