Explain your Career Path

I have been at Allstate my whole professional career. I started as an Actuarial Intern on the Encompass Insurance Pricing Team the summer before my senior year. Then I started full time as an Actuarial Analyst on the team after I graduated. After a few years, I moved over to the Allstate New Jersey Pricing Team as a Senior Actuarial Assistant. In 2024, I transitioned over to the Arity Rating Service Organization as an Assistant Actuary. Earlier this year, I joined the National General Reserving Team as an Actuarial Manager.

What was your Major at Southeast and how would you characterize the quality of that program to prospective students?

My major was Mathematics: Actuarial Science. I believe this major provided a great foundation for me to pass the first couple of actuarial exams and have a successful start to my career.

 Why did you choose to attend Southeast?

Southeast was the most affordable university that I was considering, which had an actuarial program. Also, Southeast had smaller class sizes so that I had the opportunity to get to know my professors.

What advice would you give current students or recent graduates interested in pursuing a career in your professional field?

I would recommend to pass the first couple actuarial exams as soon as you can to bolster your resume when applying for internships and full-time roles.
